Saturday gets to a late start while Moon completes its monthly journey through introspective, protective Cancer. But at 12:10pm energy shifts when Moon moves into happy, flamboyant Leo, and its time to get out of your shell and get the weekend’s activities started in earnest.
Sun moves into a trine with intense Pluto, an aspect that empowers the will and persistence for concentrated effort. Moon’s contacts with communicator Mercury and innovator Uranus open the door to shifts in thinking and perspective.
A direct approach works best. Get to the point and get it done–and have a bit of fun in the process.

Yesterday’s emotional intensity diminishes and we all take a deep breath. Look back at yesterday’s events to get clues on what will occupy your attention this summer and fall.
The watery Cancer moon makes us extra-sensitive to emotion, heightens your intuition, and your awareness of the discord of others so the urge is to withdraw into our private secure spaces. But the workday ends on an upbeat note as Moon sextiles optimistic Jupiter.
Celebrate the end of the workweek with a nice healthful dinner.

With Moon back in its home in watery Cancer, we are reminded of the importance of paying attention to our feelings.
Your feelings are a hugely important and accurate guide. Pay attention to what attracts you and to what repels you. Pay attention to what excites you and what leaves you feeling cold. There is a great deal of information that they hold.
If your reactions seem out of line with the observed reality that is your clue that there is more that lies beneath the surface. Then your homework assignment is to figure out what that is.

Mercury, the winged messenger and planet of communication in the sign of fiery, courageous Aries has traveled from Uranus, planet of awakening and revolution to meet Pluto, planet of power and Lord of the underworld in the sign of Big Business, Big Government, and the establishment (Capricorn).
Or more simply, speaking truth to power.
So the question arises, whose power and whose truth?
To learn the answer, pay attention to what is said–both spoken words and unspoken words. If you keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut, you can learn a great deal.

Gemini Moon and April 24, 2012

Today and tomorrow the moon travels through Gemini. During this time, like little butterflies flitting about, we all pick up a little of Gemini’s curious and effervescent nature.
Gemini has a very important role to play. It is the gatherer of information. It does that in many forms that range from trading gossip to serious research. Ruled by the planet of communications, Mercury, Gemini pushes us to talk and engage in others to satisfy its insatiable curiosity. Gemini is of the element air–it is mental and wants lots of mental stimulation.
As a result it has developed a reputation, sometimes well deserved, of being superficial and flighty. But as any good networker knows, to cover lots of ground, you can’t spend too much time in any one place.
But it moves fast so that it can process lots of information.
With the moon in Gemini making contacts with Uranus and Mercury this am, our minds race even faster than usual. Try seeding your thoughts with intention before going to bed and then pay attention to what pops out as you awaken.

It’s hard to leave the nice comfy bed to face the new workweek, but duty calls.
Energy and spirits pick up at lunchtime when Moon enters Gemini and people come out of their shells.
There is much to do and an urgency to get started. The key is to hang in there and stay focused on the task at hand.
Fortunately Sun and Mars are pulling in the same direction will help you to apply sustained practical effort.

The Tortoise Wins Every Time

Steadfast, solid and sensible may not seem like exciting words to you, but this weekend they will be unusually appealing.
A new moon occurred at 3:18 am EDT in the wee hours of the morning. This one, at 2 degrees of Taurus, launches a monthly lunar cycle, your monthly fresh start. Look to the place where Taurus resides in your birth chart to see what areas to emphasize this month.
This new moon kicks off a two week opportunity that is favorable for undertakings that are well thought out and grounded. Think of the words, “steadfast,” “solid” and “sensible,” like the Taurus friend who will stick buy you through thick and thin.
An added push is given by the personal planets, Mercury, Venus and Mars, all moving direct now. So, execute those actions you’ve been mulling over these past couple months.
Because Taurus energy is of the Earth, face up to the day-to-day realities of life as a physical being living in a physical world. That means taking care of your body through exercise, healthy, nutritious food, getting out to enjoy nature, tending to financial matters, and grounding your efforts with solid, well-thought planning.
Taurean energy reflects the tortoise; steady, slow and simple. And, as the parable The Tortoise and the Hare teaches us, its the Tortoise who wins every time.

Finish Up What You Started

Today, actions speak louder than words.
Use the energy of the Aries moon to finish things up this morning. In the event you run into opposition at Moon’s opposition to Saturn at 3:35pm (Eastern), don’t buck ‘City Hall,’ just let it go. Consider the transit as a natural bookend to the end of the work-week and just let it go.
Tomorrow begins a new lunar cycle, the opportunity for a monthly fresh start.

Fire and Earth

High Enthusiasm

After a languid morning, energy and enthusiasm pick up when Moon moves into Aries at 11:59 am (Eastern). With both Sun and Moon in Aries it is easy to get carried away. Hoof in mouth disease is a danger because it is just too easy to let words slip out before considering their impact on others. But with a little thought and consideration speaking your mind can have a large positive result.
The Sun is completing its annual journey through Aries and the moon its annual lunar cycle. So it is best to use the high energy for clean up and tying up loose ends. Wait until the weekend before initiating new projects.
